Wow. That's all I could say for a solid five minutes. This is a beautiful use of the purple and yellow complements and one I don't see often. It's subtle and soft and captures a nurturing quality. The use of her clothes becoming the magic spell was so cleanly tied in by incorporating those same shapes into the foreground and background; something I never would have thought of and yet a simple detail. I like that you used the exact same colors on the woman as the mountains in the distance and the sky, blending her right into the landscape except that her features are refined enough she stands out as a separate entity.
This is just so BEAUTIFUL! And it's cute how the child's toy seems to be coming to life beside him. Makes it... magically cute? I don't know the proper words to use for how this piece makes me feel, but it's just so nicely done! And the woman is just so graceful with her fabric billowing gently around.
Wow, that story was a trip, haha. So well written and beautiful. I immediately recognized a dala horse when I saw your illustration. And by coincidence my name is also Linnea! A lovely illustration to a very unique story.
