Taurus - Llewellyn Worldwide by juliedillon Taurus - Llewellyn Worldwide by juliedillon
Here is the next image I did for the Llewellyn Worldwide 2014 Astrology Calendar. :)

Taurus: April 20 to May 21. Fixed Earth sign. Loyal, steady, receptive, sensuous, likes beautiful things. Colors - The colors of leaves and earth in May: emerald greens and browns. In tune with nature, and as such likes gardening and farming. These are people that enjoy making things: artists, craftspeople, bakers, musicians, gardeners, etc. I chose to depict Taurus as a strong, beautiful farm girl who loves working in the dirt but also appreciates a manicure and pretty jewelry. (Although it is kind of dumb to plant lettuces right next to trees, but I birches are one of the symbols of the Taurus and I really wanted to include them ;) )

You can preorder the calendar if you like, or just check out the rest of Llewellyn Worldwide's offerings at www.llewellyn.com.

Sometimes painfully practical, are Taureans. I know. I get bitched at constantly about it. Oh, and I can't keep a cactus alive to save my own life. I can make any other plant thrive. But a cactus, which needs no attention at all? I kill the poor bastards. I literally love them to death. lol. I think everything needs attention but apparently this is not true. Who'da thunk?!! I sure didn't.

I actually like this interpretation you have here. She's a little rounder. Happier. Closer to the natural wealth of the earth than the ethereal fairy-like people most often depicted. I'm a bean pole myself, but I do indeed like your interpretation, Julie.

I can look back at my own wild gallery of Nature inspired artwork and say, "Yeah. That's a Taurus." I've got satin and ribbons to flowers and dark decaying earth and then chaotic color patterns.

I liken us to Toreador Kindred. "We're the sexy ones." *wink*

Definitely a very good job on the brief.
I'm a Taurus. And seeing the colour green and the nature theme constantly in the descriptions always makes me groan... Aquarius and some other signs always have something cool. For me it's always grass and being a sometimes stubborn hippie. Meh, I say!
Obviously, not your fault. I'm mostly grumbling about the star sign descriptions. Taurus tends to have the least variation. Although recently I came across a chemistry zodiac, that was cool. Taurus was matched with Titanium there.
