Last personal illustration for the 2013! Three generations of women follow the path of the Aurora Australis, hitching a ride with migrating southern striped polar bears.
wow! that is really creative. You did a great job conveying a story in this!
This is so magical, imaginative and joyful--your work is just stunning. I'm so glad I discovered it!
This is really impressive I love the composition and the way you chose your colors. It is a pleasure to look at this illustration!
This is so beautiful and I really want to know all the characters' stories, where they're going and what the world they live in is like!
Nice piece of work. It makes me a little uneasy for some reason, but it's of good quality.
A story just waiting to be fleshed out!
I wanna ride a southern striped polar bear! D:
Gorgeous piece, as always.
Gorgeous use of colour; rich without being garish.
amaaaazing! That colours tho ;o
Amazing. I love how characters look, and bears too... charming piece!
Oh that's wonderfully magical .
an absolute joy to look at
I love this! It's really cool!
Love the striped bears! So creative.
Reminds me of the Golden Compass! Love the way you handled the colors and shapes in the sky.
Wow look fantasy. I like that XD
Wonderful, especially the bears
You have such wonderful, creative, diverse ideas for your illustrations. Each one of them could be an amazing, fully-developed story on its own. I'm more than a little envious!
This is incredible!! Very very cool
This is... just wow. Incredible.
One of the coolest Polar Bear pictures I have ever seen.
This is so beautiful! Those bears look awesome!
Wow so much details to look at and enjoy . Love this work!
Hi Jule, may I ask how long it takes for you to finish a painting like this? This is awesome!
Thanks! I've been working on it for a while, but only a little bit at a time, until I got the composition finalized. Once I had all the major elements figured out, I started working more directly on it; I've been working relatively full-time-ish for about a week and a half, probably? I'm not sure the exact amount of time, because I'm usually working on several things at the same time
Wow, I've always viewed you as a very efficient and effective artist because I'm just amazed at how much art you can produce at this level of quality. I can't see how artists can get that fast. Do you have a tutorial online that we can check out to see how you work?
the colors are amazing! All the blending is spectacular!
Very rare species of polar bears! At least as rare as the striped penguins of the North Pole. Anyway, the drawing is beautiful.
Bloody impressive! Very evocative. I find myself wanting to know their story.
Excellent use of colours and values on this, I love to see very colourful things that do not come off eye-searing (especially since I'm irritated with people saying that you can't do colourful rainbow creatures without the saturation being to the max)!
Wow... I can't stop staring at the perfect and stunning use of the colours... *O*
You hear so much about the Northern Lights that I find it interesting to see a piece portraying the opposite side of the coin! This illustration is absolutely stunning, particularly the way you have achieved your values and colour intensity. I also love the graceful movement of the bears since you have also managed to portray a sense of strength, loyalty and ferocity in each of them. Bravo!
The diffent colour shades in this drawing are amazing, really good work
Absolutely gorgeous! Those colours, the textures, the bears! Oh My!
I love this one Julie. The body language, especially the bears', is wonderful. I feel the urge to rave and natter incoherently about all the hows and whys this is so good. I'll behave. Happy New Year.
This painting makes my eyes dance. I love the composition, the colors, everything about it just screams 'I am some interesting story you definitely want to read'.
Zebra polar bears :3
This is gorgeous, I love the smoothness of your style
