This was done for an upcoming ImagineFX feature on Frazetta. A bunch of artists are contributing sketches and art inspired by his work. It should be available in February. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with. I would have waited to upload it, but it's the only relatively non-commissioned piece I've done as of late, and I thought it turned out not too bad. We only had a week to do it, and I probably could have done more with more time, but this is what I was able to get in that time.
Although I realized halfway through that I inadvertenly made it look like a really crappy ending for this piece -> [link] Which seems a bit mean. Whoops. XD ETA: Let's just pretend this is one of those "Choose your own adventure" novels, and this is just the "bad" ending if you pick the wrong option.
Sorry about the "mature" warning. I detest having to label anything "mature," but better safe than sorry, I suppose, what with the butts and the stabbyness and all. 8)
Mar 2nd, 2009: small update, cleaning up a few bits here and there.
Amazing, and what a strong piece it leaves you wanting to know what is going on, or try to create a story of your own. This is amazing, the strong motion, the colors, the stark contrast of the muted colors and the brilliant red and the fallen against the rest of the art plain is amazing. Nice work!
